HENSON TO COACH: Lou Henson will return to coaching but will be in a wheelchair when New Mexico State plays North Texas on Saturday. Henson, 22 victories short of becoming the fifth Division I coach with 800, was stricken with viral encephalitis three months ago. The disease, an acute inflammation of the brain, caused paralysis in Henson's right leg.
ST. JOHN'S: The Red Storm will not participate in the Big East tournament because of the penalties the program imposed on itself for NCAA violations.
UF'S WALSH STILL AILING: Florida junior guard Matt Walsh may miss Saturday's SEC home opener against Arkansas because of a high ankle sprain he sustained Thursday. Walsh, who is averaging 16 points, did not play in Sunday's loss at Florida State, and Florida coach Billy Donovan said he might not know until Thursday whether Walsh can play.
