HUDSON - A 90-year-old woman who stumbled into her swimming pool Tuesday afternoon died Wednesday morning at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said.

An ambulance took Edna Johansen to the hospital after her brother-in-law found her submerged in the pool, pulled her out and began CPR. She regained a pulse at the hospital after 30 minutes of cardiac arrest, a Sheriff's Office report says. Johansen lived on Robin Nest Drive with her brother-in-law and two sisters. She apparently had been retrieving items from the home's pool area about 3 p.m. when she lost her balance and fell in.
