Botulism victims moved

By Associated Press
Published January 7, 2005

Medical aides help Eric Kaplan walk to a private plane at Palm Beach International Airport on Thursday for a flight to Atlanta to continue rehabilitation from botulism poisoning suffered in November. Kaplan was injected at a clinic with an unapproved wrinkle-remover drug concocted from botulism toxin. He was taking his first public steps after being left temporarily paralyzed and spending more than a month in a hospital. His wife Bonnie, who also was injected and became ill, has made less progress; she was carried onto the plane on a stretcher.
