Tom Nagy has been named director of marketing for DeBartolo Holdings LLC, Tampa. Nagy was marketing manager for BBF Printing Solutions, Largo.
DESIGN
Paul Leone has been named an interior designer for ASD, Tampa. Leone was a designer for Weborg Rectenwald Buehler Architects, Erie, Pa.
EDUCATION
Tony Sloan has been named director of development for Tampa Preparatory School. Sloan was executive director for Major Gifts at the College of Business Administration at the University of South Florida. Sloan also serves as a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force Reserves and recently returned from the Persian Gulf.
HEALTH CARE
Jim Gagliano is the recipient of the 2004 Harry Hagman CDT Inventors Award. Given by the National Association of Dental Laboratories, Gagliano was recognized for his G-Base model and die system, which accurately and predictably expedites the dental restoration making process. Gagliano is owner of Gagliano Dental Laboratory, Tampa.
INSURANCE
Debra Riley has been promoted to assistant vice president of Bankers Life Insurance Co., St. Petersburg. Riley was manager of insurance operations.
LEGAL
Janice Matson Rickert and Fred S. Werdine have been selected to participate in the 2005 class of Leadership Tampa Bay. Rickert is an associate in the health care practice group, and Werdine is a shareholder in the litigation department, both for the law firm of Fowler White Boggs Banker, Tampa.
James A. Martin Jr. has been elected president-elect of the Florida Academy of Healthcare Attorneys. Martin is a shareholder and director in the law firm of Macfarlane Ferguson & McMullen's Clearwater office and concentrates in the areas of medical malpractice, labor and employment, litigation, civil rights and professional liability.
James Porter has been appointed to the Hillsborough County Arts Council. Porter is a partner in the land use practice group of the Tampa law firm of Ruden McClosky.
ORGANIZATIONS
Lizz Harmon and Joe Lamphier have been named Volunteers of the Year by the Pediatric Cancer Foundation. The award recognizes outstanding service and commitment by a volunteer. Harmon is president of HarmonTampa Inc., Tampa; and Lamphier is vice president and general manager of Crown Eurocars Inc., St. Petersburg.
ORGANIZATIONS
Scott Farrell and Dan Rodriguez were recognized at the Guardian ad Litem State conference with volunteer awards. Farrell is board president of Voices For Children of Hillsborough County and was recognized by Gov. Jeb Bush for his outstanding community advocacy; and Rodriguez was named the Guardian of the Year for the 13th Circuit. Farrell is an associate in the tax department of the law firm of Trenam Kemker, Tampa; and Rodriguez is a retired schoolteacher/guidance counselor who lives in Tampa.
John Gianfilippo has been re-elected regional vice president f the Florida Independent Automobile Dealers Association, or FIADA. Gianfilippo is owner and president of Auto America, Clearwater.
TECHNOLOGY
Gary M. Acromite has been named director of supply chain management and client enabling technologies for USC Consulting Group, Tampa. Acromite was vice president, and customer supply chain and chief information officer of Swift Foods Inc., Greeley, Colo.
UTILITIES
Shawn Smith has been named to the board of directors of the Consumer Electronics Association TechHome Division. Smith is vice president of S&S Electric, Oldsmar.
