INVERNESS - A convenience store clerk was arrested Wednesday and accused of stealing more than $1,500 from her employer.

Julie A. Reale, 34, 16 S Osceola St., Beverly Hills, was arrested at the Kwik King convenience store at 2408 U.S. 41 N after a deputy questioned her.

She admitted taking between $1,500 and $3,500 in cash from the register over several months, according to an arrest report. She stated she took the money because she had financial problems.

Reale was arrested on a charge of grand theft and taken to the Citrus County Jail; bail was set at $2,000.
