HUDSON - A crash near State Road 52 and Hays Road on Wednesday morning sent three people to hospitals and backed up traffic for miles.

The 10:06 a.m. crash involved three cars, said Battalion Chief Greg Gude of Pasco County Fire Rescue. Helicopters took two people to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg. A third person was transported by ambulance to an area hospital.

An hour later, traffic still was backed up along State Road 52. The names of those injured were not available Wednesday night.
