Pinellas super seven

By Times Staff Writer
Published January 13, 2005

(Last week's ranking in parentheses)

1. (1) CLEARWATER (15-2): Still untouchable in Pinellas County, though a rash of injuries is helping teams sneak closer.

2. (3) LARGO (16-2): After this week, next four are against PHU, Indian Rocks Christian, Clearwater and Seminole.

3. (5) BOCA CIEGA (9-4): Handed Seminole first loss of season last week while knocking off then-No. 6 PHU.

4. (4) INDIAN ROCKS CHRISTIAN (11-2): Class A school will test mettle tonight against red-hot No. 3 Bogie.

5. (2) SEMINOLE (14-1): Love the backcourt, but will the Warhawks have enough beef in the middle to handle bigger schools in postseason?

6. (NR) ST. PETERSBURG CATHOLIC (10-5): No. 4 Academy of the Holy Names needed OT to fight off pesky Barons in Class 2A showdown.

7. (6) PALM HARBOR (8-8): Overtime loss to Bogie hurt, but not as much as loss to Dunedin would have ('Canes won by a point).
