TAMPA - A 41-year-old woman was attacked and sexually assaulted at knifepoint by a man who offered to give her a ride across town early Friday, officials said.

Antonio Quinones, 43, of 4525 W Lambright St., was arrested and faces charges of sexual battery, aggravated assault, aggravated battery and false imprisonment.

About 4:20 a.m. Friday, the woman was in the area of Nebraska and Waters avenues seeking a ride to Town 'N Country, sheriff's officials said. Once the woman was inside his car, Quinones sexually battered her at knifepoint, officials said.

She later jumped out of the car near Anderson Road and Sligh Avenue. A Hillsborough sheriff's deputy saw her, stopped Quinones and made the arrest, officials say.

Quinones remained at the county jail Friday without bail.
