Man accused of fondling boy, girl

PORT RICHEY - A 62-year-old man was arrested Friday, accused of fondling two children, an adolescent girl and boy, in separate incidents.
John Anthony Varellie of Wabash Lane faces three counts of lewd and lascivious behavior. He was held in the county jail in lieu of $300,000 bail.
Varellie admitted there was a "strong possibility" that he put his hand in the boy's pants and that it had been "bad judgment," according to an arrest report.
He admitted to having the girl sit on his lap and telling her it had been a long time since he had been sexually aroused, another report said.
"The defendant then stated that he couldn't remember what else happened, due to memory problems."
