Naimoli wins by losing

Letters to the Editor
Published January 16, 2005

Isn't it obvious what Vince Naimoli's intentions really are? Since the new partner will be taking over Naimoli's share of the Devil Rays in a year or two (thank goodness), Naimoli is trying to gouge as much cash out of this franchise as he possibly can. By losing as many games as it can, he has put this team in a position to collect the most from the luxury taxes that the big spenders pay. Anybody who thinks that he gives a damn about this team winning is nuts.

It's a Tampa Bay sting

The fans have been gouged since the beginning with the high prices for tickets, concessions and parking. The team has not won, or even been competitive. Does anyone realize that contraction comes back into play in 2006?

Moss on, TV off

I watched the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers game and was disgusted with the antics of Randy Moss. His gross actions were seen by many impressionable children. I certainly hope he is justly punished with a fine or suspension. If not, the NFL has set a very poor example for our youth. Moss has put himself on a pedestal for several years now, but I guarantee I will never watch a game he participates in again.
