TALLAHASSEE - Roneeka Hodges and Shay Doron canceled each other out, each setting a school record with 39 points.
Fortunately for Hodges, her Florida State teammates were better than Doron's supporting cast.
Hodges had seven points in overtime Sunday, helping the Seminoles upset No.15 Maryland 95-91.
Her layup with eight seconds remaining capped a frantic end-of-regulation rally by FSU, which trailed 78-73 with 43 seconds left. In overtime, Hodges scored the Seminoles' first five points.
"That's what it's about," Hodges said. "If you're tired and the game is on the line, you have to keep on fighting through it."
Hodges made 15 of 26 shots, including all three of her 3-point tries as FSU (16-2, 3-1 ACC) overcame a 12-point deficit over the final 10 minutes of regulation.
Doron hit on 14 of 23 shots, plus added six assists for the Terrapins. But she missed on a jumper at the end of regulation, and FSU controlled much of overtime.
Alicia Gladden had 17 for FSU. Ganiyat Adeduntan finished with 13 and Holly Johnson added 12 and a game-high seven assists.
Anesia Smith made two free throws early in overtime to give Maryland a one-point lead, but Hodges scored inside and Adeduntan connected on a jumper to put FSU up 85-82 with 2:48 left.
Maryland (12-3, 2-2) got within one on three occasions down the stretch, but Linnea Liljestrand's 3-pointer with 41 seconds remaining sealed the win for FSU.
FSU made 6-of-8 in the extra session, and scored 27 off 22 turnovers by the Terrapins.
UF 67, SOUTH CAROLINA 57: The visiting Gators (12-5, 3-1 SEC) were led by Tamia Williams, who hit five 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 21. Bernice Mosby added 17 points and 12 rebounds, and Tashia Moorhead had 16 points, including four 3-pointers. South Carolina (6-11, 1-3) took advantage of turnovers to grab a 35-27 halftime lead.
HOUSTON 65, USF 45: Senior forward Sancho Lyttle scored 33 and had a school-record-tying 20 rebounds as the Cougars (13-3, 4-0 C-USA) remained unbeaten at home. USF cut into a 22-point second-half deficit with a 11-2 run over a two-minute span. Two free throws by USF guard Anedra Gilmore made it 57-45 with 2:37 left. But Houston closed with an 8-0 run, which included Lyttle's 20th rebound off a block of an Alana Tanksley jumper. USF (12-6, 2-2) could not capitalize on the Cougars' 24 turnovers. Houston held a 54-28 rebounding advantage, leading to 18 second-chance points.
