Brawl breaks out after high school basketball game; deputies arrest 2

BRANDON - A fight erupted into a brawl at Brandon High School on Tuesday night following a basketball game, resulting in two arrests but no serious injuries.

A 16-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man were charged with disruption of a school function, said Hillsborough County sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter.

The scuffle started right after the game ended between Brandon and Middleton high schools, she said. It wound up with people streaming down from the bleachers and storming the court, she said.

Prince Revere III, 20, of Tampa, was booked into the county jail Tuesday night on a charge of trespassing and disrupting a school function, according to jail records. He was held in lieu of $750 bail.

No one was seriously injured, but the incident brought more than a dozen squad cars to the scene.

Carter said she did not know what led to the fight.
