ADAMS MIDDLE: There will be Cici's Pizza Night fundraisers Feb. 17 and March 17 at the Cici's Pizza at 13121 N Dale Mabry Highway, at Fletcher and Dale Mabry. A portion of sales will go to buy materials for students.

BELLAMY ELEMENTARY: Buy a Chick-fil-A cow calendar for $5, featuring the theme "Cows United in Danger, Not Dinner." The child who sells the most calendars from each grade level can invite a friend to Chick-fil-A for dinner. Each month's page contains a Chick-fil-A coupon. Call (813) 872-5387.

BRYANT ELEMENTARY: Dads who would like to get involved in their children's education can join Bryant's Dad's Club. Participate in the beautification program by helping to fix up the school's cottages and latticework. Call (813) 356-1645.

CHILES ELEMENTARY: Families new to the area can attend the New Family Welcome Coffee at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 26 in the media center. There will be a question-and-answer time, and information packets will be distributed. Meet both other families and the school PTA. Call (813) 558-5422.

Advance discount tickets for the Florida State Fair are available through order forms sent home with the students. Discounts range from $1 off a child's admission to $31 in savings on a Family Fun Pack. Ten percent of each purchase goes to the PTA. Orders must be placed by Jan. 21; the fair runs Feb. 10-21. Creative students are invited to take part in Chiles' first literary magazine, Scribbles. Students in any grade may submit stories, poetry and essays. McKITRICK ELEMENTARY: The School Advisory Council meeting will be Monday in the media center, concerning the mid-year report and progress toward grade-level goals.

There will be a breakfast for children who have won the citizen of the month award, 7:15 a.m. Thursday in the cafeteria.

PATEL CHARTER SCHOOL: Openings are still available for grades 1-4. The school offers smaller classes and one-on-one interaction between students and teachers. PIERCE MIDDLE: The seventh annual FCAT Spaghetti Dinner will be 6 p.m. Thursday in the gym. There will be information on how parents can best prepare their children for the FCAT, as well as classroom displays, entertainment and door prizes. The meal, including spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert and drink will be prepared by the principal, Victor Fernandez. Tickets are $4 per person and will be on sale until the day of the event. TAMPA PALMS ELEMENTARY: The Kindergarten Roundup will be at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 17 in the cafeteria. Parents of children entering kindergarten next August should attend for registration, information and a tour of the school. Parents may also get information and register their children for one of two "Ready, Set, Go Camps," designed to introduce children to the world of elementary school. The camps will run from June 6-17 and from June 20-July 1.

There will be a food night at Moe's Southwest Grill, 4-9 p.m. Tuesday. Moe's is on Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, just north of Dona Michelle. A portion of profits will benefit the Tampa Palms PTA.

WOODBRIDGE ELEMENTARY: The annual spaghetti dinner, silent auction and book fair will be 5-8 p.m. Friday. The dinner has been a Woodbridge tradition for more than 30 years, and the spaghetti is homemade. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children.

CROSSING GUARDS SOUGHT: The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for school crossing guards. Applicants must be 19 or older, pass a background check and have a valid driver's license or Florida identification card and a Social Security card. Generally, a permanent location near your home is assigned. You work one hour before school and one hour after and receive $8.96 per hour for 10 hours a week. Crossing guards are enrolled in the Florida retirement system, and equipment, uniforms and training are provided. Guards can advance to supervisors. Call 813 247-8123.
