Hillsborough man charged in death of female neighbor

TAMPA - Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies arrested a 28-year-old man Sunday in the slaying of a 19-year-old woman who was found dead in her apartment earlier in the day.

Deputies said they found the woman after responding to a 911 call at 10:32 a.m. reporting a possible suicide at 8432 Camden St.

When deputies arrived at the apartment complex about five minutes later, they discovered that the woman had suffered blunt trauma to her body. Those injuries, deputies said, were not consistent with a suicide.

The woman, whom deputies did not identify, was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, deputies said.

Shortly before 3 p.m., deputies arrested Raul Hank Hankilevitz, who also lived in the apartment complex. Hankilevitz, a telemarketer, was charged with first-degree murder. He was held Sunday night at the Orient Road Jail without bail.

Homicide detectives were investigating and have questioned three people who were inside the woman's apartment.

Hankilevitz's criminal history in Florida includes arrests on charges of burglary, attempted burglary, trespassing and larceny.
