INVERNESS - A 74-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after authorities accused him of molesting two girls and showing them a pornographic DVD, according an arrest report.

Bob Epperson, of 9178 Riverbluff Court, was arrested on three counts of lewd and lascivious molestation and one count of protection of minors in connection with obscenity, according to the report.

The girls, ages 12 and 13, told authorities that Epperson touched their private areas, then told them to touch his private area and showed them a pornographic DVD when the girls, who are cousins, stayed at his home Jan. 8, according to the report.

One girl's father gave authorities three pornographic videos and three pornographic DVDs and told authorities Epperson gave him the pornographic material Jan. 18 after Epperson said he no longer wanted it, according to the report.

The girls were acquainted with Epperson, but their relationship was unclear from the arrest report, said sheriff's spokeswoman Gail Tierney.

Epperson was arrested at 11 a.m. Wednesday after telling authorities he touched the 12-year-old girl's private area on a couple of occasions and had her touch his private area. He told investigators he had viewed part of the DVD with both girls but turned it off as soon as he realized what was on the DVD.

Epperson was booked into the county jail, where his bail was set at $17,000.
