GEORGE JONES VISITS: Country music legend George Jones performs Saturday at Silver Springs Park. Music begins with opening acts at noon, and Jones is scheduled to take the stage about 3 p.m. The park's gates open at 9 a.m. Concertgoers can bring their own folding chairs to the amphitheater or rent chairs at the park. The concert is included in the regular admission price of $32.99 for adults; $29.99 for seniors 55 and older; and $23.99 for children ages 3 to 10. A special discount is in effect for Saturday: Bring in the sleeve from any Coca-Cola product to receive $11 off the price of a regular adult ticket. Each Coca-Cola product can admit up to six guests with a discount.

TALENT SEARCH FINALS: Citrus County Parks and Recreation, along with the Citrus County Fair Association, is sponsoring the second annual Talent Search. The finals will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Citrus County Auditorium, U.S. 41 S at the fairgrounds in Inverness. Admission is free. Twenty-three acts, including singers, dancers and bands, are scheduled to perform. Winners will be showcased at the Citrus County Fair in March during Fair Week. STRIKE UP THE BAND: The Citrus Community Band rehearse s at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday s in the Lecanto Middle School band room under the direction of Don Rowe and Nancy Gordon, veteran music educators. Marches, movie themes, classical and jazz are performed at community events throughout the county. To book the band or join as a musician, call John Durbin at 795-1863.

ART CENTER PLAY: Blithe Spirit, a comedy by Noel Coward, will play weekends through to Feb. 6 at the Art Center Theatre, 2644 N Annapolis Ave., Citrus Hills. The theater is on the grounds of the Citrus County Art League. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and at 2 p.m. Sundays and this Saturday. Reserved seat tickets are $15. The box office is open from 1 to 4 p.m. daily, except Mondays. Call 746-7606 or stop by to make reservations.

OLD LOVELY MUSIC: Rodgers and Hart - A Celebration continue s through Sunday at Playhouse 19, 865 U.S. 19 S, Crystal River. Performances at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $15. Call the box office at 563-1333.

SPRINGS CHORUS: The Citrus Springs Chorus rehearses at 2:30 p.m. Thursdays at the Citrus Springs Community Center on Citrus Springs Boulevard. New members are welcome on all parts through this month. Director Nancy Gordon unveiled plans for a concert April 11 titled An American Patchwork to include ensembles, full chorus numbers and solos. The group is open to anyone who enjoys part singing. There is no audition, and a special welcome is extended to new residents and to snowbirds who are sticking around through mid April. Gordon has more than 30 years of experience in music education and church music and is also co-director of the Citrus Concert Band. The accompanist, Kay Kelble, plays at two area churches. BEVERLY HILLS CHORUS: The Chorus of Beverly Hills rehearses for its spring concert at the Beverly Hills Recreation Association at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Singers for all four voice parts are encouraged to join. Director is Lorraine Wilmoth, and accompanist is Renate Williams. Singers will be registered and music distributed. The chorus welcomes all county residents who are eager to sing and commit to attending rehearsals regularly. A program with the theme "We Are One Family" is planned for 3 p.m. April 24. CURTAIN CALLS

AUDITIONS: Playhouse 19 will have auditions for Greater Tuna, directed by Leesa Ehlers, at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 7 and 8. The theater is at 865 U.S. 19 S, Crystal River. The play calls for a two-man cast and backstage personnel. This, the last show of the year, will run May 26 to June 12, Thursdayto Sunday.

LOOK AHEAD

FOUR-PART HARMONY: Citrus Harmony Show Chorus will have its 16th annual Sweet Adelines show at 1 p.m. Feb. 5 at the Citrus County Fairgrounds Auditorium on U.S. 41 S, Inverness. The show is called Who Invented Music? and will include romantic, gospel and dance tunes in four-part barbershop harmony style. Low Key, a quartet, will perform. Special guests will be the Citrus Community Concert Chorus and the quartet Harmony Counts, from the Big Sun Chorus in Ocala. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Children admitted for $7. MAGIC SHOW: Master magicians Kevin and Cindy Spencer will bring their touring act Theater of Illusion to the Curtis Peterson Auditorium at Lecanto High School at 3 p.m. Feb. 6. LIGHT OPERA: An evening of classical and opera music, Bravissimo 2005, will be presented at 8 p.m. Feb. 12 and 2 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Art Center Theatre at the Citrus County Art League, 2644 N Annapolis Ave., Citrus Hills. Professional opera singers Francesco La Spada and Silvia Di Falco and pianist Enrico Lancia will share the stage with local opera singers Anna Sandoval and Stephanie Reiss. Admission is $30 for the Feb. 12 show, which includes a postconcert reception, and $25 for the Feb. 13 show. Tickets on sale at the box office.

SPRING CRAFTS: The Citrus County Craft Council's 15th annual Spring Fling Craft Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Crystal River National Guard Armory on Venable Street and U.S. 19. The show will include raffles every 30 minutes. Admission is free. Proceeds will benefit Citrus County Head Start. Call Gene or Maria at 621-3608 for additional information.
