TAMPA - A 49-year-old woman faces a DUI charge after she crashed through several barricades set up along Bayshore Boulevard in preparation for Gasparilla, police say.

Tampa police say Audrey Lavonne Brown of Tampa was driving on Bayshore near Rome Avenue at 8:30 p.m. Thursday night when she struck the barricades. She kept going for about 1 mile before she stopped for police at Howard Avenue and Bayshore, according to a police report.

Brown, listed in jail records as a toll collector, had a blood alcohol level of 0.252, police said. The legal point at which a driver is presumed to be impaired is 0.08. She faces one count of driving under the influence and causing property damage, jail records show. She posted $500 bail and was released.
