Forward Terrence Leather, USF's leading scorer and rebounder, has been suspended from tonight's game by coach Robert McCullum for "conduct detrimental to the team." Leather, a 6-foot-9 senior from Robinson High, did not travel with the team Friday, and USF did not elaborate on a reason for the suspension.
Leather was held scoreless in the Bulls' 74-48 loss to No. 21 Cincinnati on Thursday, fouling out after playing just 12 minutes. When he picked up his fourth foul with 1:02 left in the first half, he exchanged words with McCullum before taking a seat on the bench. Leather was not made available for comment after the game and could not be reached Friday.
Senior forward Brandon Brigman, who is averaging 2.2 points, is expected to start.
It's not Leather's first suspension. He was benched for the opening five minutes of USF's season-opening win against Stephen F. Austin in November. Last season, McCullum held him out of a game against Southern Miss in February, citing academic reasons.
