Men: UCLA rallies from 18 down to top Trojans

LOS ANGELES - Dijon Thompson scored eight of his 24 points in the final 4:45 and UCLA rallied from an 18-point halftime deficit to beat Southern Cal 72-69 Saturday, snapping a four-game losing streak to its crosstown rival.
Thompson, a senior who had only 12 points combined in home losses to Stanford and California in UCLA's previous two games, made two free throws with 56.9 seconds left to snap a 69-69 tie.
After host USC committed its 19th and final turnover, Thompson made another free throw with 16.3 seconds remaining to complete the scoring.
Thompson's short jumper gave the Bruins a 69-67 lead, but Gregg Guenther scored from underneath to tie it with 2:16 left.
STANFORD 88, OREGON 69: Matt Haryasz had career highs of 20 points and 20 rebounds, and the host Cardinal won its sixth straight. The Ducks have lost the past 19 meetings at Maples Pavilion. Stanford led by 32 at one point.
WEST VIRGINIA 82, PROVIDENCE 78: The Mountaineers held off a comeback to keep the host Friars winless in the Big East. The Friars trailed 66-52 with six minutes left then drew within 80-78 with 5.4 seconds left, but Darris Nicholls made two free throws to seal it.
SETON HALL 62, ST. JOHN'S 55: Sixth man Andre Sweet scored 15 for the visiting Pirates, who held Daryll Hill, the Big East's leading scorer at 20.9 points a game, to six points.
VILLANOVA 94, RUTGERS 61: Allen Ray scored 21 for the Wildcats, who shot a season-high 64.3 percent and handed the Scarlet Knights their worst loss in 27 seasons at the Rutgers Athletic Center.
KANSAS ST. 64, MISSOURI 53: The Wildcats went on a 20-5 run to take a 28-21 lead with 4:21 to go in the first half on the way to their first win in Columbia since 1985. Kansas State went ahead for good on a putback with 7:15 left in the first half by Jeremiah Massey, who scored 17.
TEXAS A&M 74, BAYLOR 62: Acie Law scored 22 points, including 11 in the final 61/2 minutes, for the Aggies, who led 53-51 with 6:53 left then went on a 10-0 run. Texas A&M set a school record with its 13th home win.
TEXAS TECH 84, NEBRASKA 68: Martin Zeno scored a career-high 22 for the host Red Raiders. The Cornhuskers went on an 8-0 run to cut their deficit to 40-34 with 13 minutes left, but they missed their next five shots and never got closer.
OHIO ST. 65, NORTHWESTERN 52: The visiting Buckeyes ended the game on a 22-1 run, overcoming a 51-43 deficit. J.J. Sullinger scored six of his team-high 15 in the surge, including back-to-back baskets that gave OSU the lead for good at 52-51.
SAINT JOSEPH'S 67, XAVIER 59: Pat Carroll scored a career-high 29 and Dwayne Jones had 15 points and 14 rebounds for his ninth double double this season for the host Hawks.
TEMPLE 87, ST. BONAVENTURE 66: The visiting Owls, who led 41-26 at halftime, used a 13-7 run midway through the second half to go up 77-54. The Bonnies have lost 29 of 31 dating to last season.

UCF 60, BELMONT 57: Marcus Avant blocked a 3-point try with two seconds left to preserve the victory for the host Golden Knights. Gary Johnson led UCF with 15 points, including two free throws with 16.8 seconds left for the final points.
BETHUNE-COOKMAN 71, HOWARD 46: Michael Williams had 16 points and 12 rebounds for the visiting Wildcats, who held Howard to 25 percent shooting and forced 22 turnovers.
DELAWARE ST. 72, FAMU 50: Poor shooting sank the visiting Rattlers, who were 18-for-58 (31 percent) from the field. Jon Mason led Florida A&M, which never led, with nine points.
JACKSONVILLE 78, CAMPBELL 65: B.J. Surry scored 18 for the host Dolphins, who had a 10-0 run to take a 67-50 lead with just under four minutes left.
STETSON 69, GARDNER-WEBB 62: Anthony Register scored 18 for the host Hatters, who took the lead for good at 53-52 on a layup by J.J. Hirst with 8:46 left. There were four lead changes before that.
FAU 84, LIPSCOMB 67: Florida Atlantic went on an 11-0 run in the first half to erase a seven-point deficit and take the lead for good. Mike Bell had 22 points and 14 rebounds for the host Owls.
ECKERD 75, ROLLINS 70 (OT): Greg Plummer led all scorers with 30 points, including five 3-pointers for the host Tritons. Plummer's free throw with 1:04 left in regulation tied it at 60 and forced overtime.
LYNN 81, TAMPA 63: The visiting Knights used a 17-0 run at the end of the first half and start of the second to pull away. Marcus Bright and Josh Shave led the Spartans with 12 points each.
