Florida can't stop Vandy 3-pointers

NASHVILLE - Abi Ramsey made a school-record eight 3-pointers and scored a career-high 30 as No.23 Vanderbilt defeated Florida 84-73 Sunday.
The Commodores' 13 3-pointers were two shy of the school record.
Tied at 51 early in the second half, the Gators scored eight in a row, four by backup guard Sarah Lowe. Vandy answered with a 17-2 run, keyed by four Ramsey 3-pointers.
Florida, led by Hernando High graduate Bernice Mosby's 15 points, closed to 80-73 on Tamia Williams' 3-pointer with 32 seconds left. It had a chance to get closer after Carla Thomas missed two free throws. But Williams missed a 3-pointer, and Thomas made two free throws with 21 seconds left.
DePAUL 74, USF 66: Khara Smith had 24 points and 17 rebounds for the No.17 Blue Demons. The Bulls, led by Jessica Dickson's 21 points, fell to 1-7 on the road and 0-3 against ranked teams.
Already without its third-leading scorer, Nalini Miller, because of a strained left hamstring, USF also played without its leading scorer, Anedra Gilmore, who sprained her left ankle during practice Saturday.
Down 36-27 at halftime, the Bulls cut it to 37-34 on Alana Tanksley's 3-pointer. But DePaul answered with a 9-0 run. Smith scored seven, and Jenna Rubino capped it with a layup.
UConn win streak ends
STORRS, Conn. - Notre Dame ended the Huskies' 112-game Big East home win streak 65-59. No.9 Connecticut hadn't lost a home conference game since Feb.27, 1993, 64-62 to Georgetown. It hadn't lost any home game since Feb.1, 2001, 72-71 to Tennessee, a span of 55 games.
The No.6 Irish led by 10 at halftime then held on. Ann Strother, who scored a season-high 25 and made 7 of 9 3-pointers, made her final one with 12.6 seconds left to cut it to 61-59. But Notre Dame made four consecutive free throws.
NO.1 DUKE 52, NO.25 N.C. STATE 49: Monique Currie's three-point play with 38 seconds left lifted the visiting Blue Devils. Kendra Bell's 3-pointer put the Wolfpack up 49-48. But Currie drove and banked in a jumper while fouled. Alison Bales then blocked Billie McDowell's layup.
NO.2 LSU 57, AUBURN 52: Freshman Sylvia Fowles had 13 points and 14 rebounds, her eighth double double, for the host Tigers. Down 27-11 at halftime, the Tigers got within 55-52 on Natasha Brackett's 3-pointer with a second left. But Temeka Johnson's two free throws sealed it.
NO.3 OHIO ST. 69, ILLINOIS 55: Jessica Davenport had 32 points and 14 rebounds for the visiting Buckeyes. Davenport, a 6-foot-4 sophomore who scored a career-high 36 against Wisconsin on Thursday, scored 13 of Ohio State's first 18. Up 35-24 at halftime, Ohio State's 13-4 run put it up 65-42 with 5:48 left.
NO.8 RUTGERS 70, WEST VIRGINIA 49: Michelle Campbell had 20 points and 11 rebounds for the host Scarlet Knights. The Mountaineers scored on their first possession, nine seconds in, but not again for 12:43. In between, it committed 12 consecutive turnovers and Rutgers scored 21.
NO.22 PENN ST. 81, NO.10 MINNESOTA 68: Tanisha Wright tied a career high with 32 points in the host Nittany Lions' fourth win over a Top 10 team. Up 37-35, Wright scored five during a 13-2 run that made it 50-37 with 11:42 left.
NO.11 MICHIGAN ST. 52, INDIANA 40: Kelli Roehrig scored all 13 of her points during the second half for the visiting Spartans. After sitting for the final 13 minutes of the first half with two fouls, Roehrig scored eight during a 10-0 run that put Michigan State up 39-27 with 8:40 left.
NO.12 UNC 55, GA. TECH 41: Nikita Bell scored six during the visiting Tar Heels' 15-0 run then four during a 10-0 run that made it 31-12.
NO.13 TEXAS TECH 67, TEXAS A&M 54: Cisti Greenwalt had 26 points and 16 rebounds for the visiting Red Raiders. Morenike Atunrase's two free throws got the Aggies to 43-41 with 11:12 left. But Greenwalt and Chesley Dabbs combined for an ensuing 9-2 run.
NO.24 TEMPLE 64, XAVIER 62: Kamesha Hairston scored a career-high 31, including a layup at the buzzer, for the host Owls. Hairston's 15-foot jumper tied it with 15.2 seconds left. Wharton High graduate Candice Dupree then blocked Miranda Green's shot to give Temple the ball under its basket. Ari Moore's inbounds pass went just past halfcourt to Dupree, who found Hairston open under the basket.
