FLORAL CITY STUDENTS OF THE MONTH: Floral City Elementary School announced its Students of the Month for December.

Prekindergarten: Tonaya Owens, Angelica Scorza, Brendan Deiderich, Kristen Poliseno.

Kindergarten: Courtney Johnson, Maysen Bennett, Jasmine Dollar, Daniel Parker, Savannah Beckwith, Trytten Gamble, Shelby Anderson, Megan Carroll-Cruz.

First grade: Sarah Taulbee, Christopher Rogers, Shelby Sansoucie, Bobbie Bessler, Cassidy Moulton, Victoria Brigman, Dylan Johns, Alexia Smith, Dakotah Robinson.

Second grade: Jared Huber, Mikala Shahid, John Pittman, Bekka Combs, Bradley Andrews, Corrie Beth Johnson, Kailee Selman, Alan Verone.

INVERNESS PRIMARY SCHOOL SCIENCE FAIR WINNERS: Inverness Primary School announced the winners of its fifth-grade science fair.

Students were judged in two categories: life science and physical science. The 135 children completed their experiments as individuals or in groups. Judges were parents and School Advisory Enhancement Council and community members.

Placing first in physical science (individual) and first overall was Brandon McKinney.

In second place in physical science (individual) and overall was Jacob Lane. Third place in physical science (individual) and overall was Kristen Jones . Honorable mention went to Evan Kegler in physical science (individual).

In the life science category, first place (individual) went to Jane Strongosky, while second place went to Morgan Metzger and third place to Evan Long.

First place physical science (group) was awarded to Kayla Copas, Erica Jensen and Bailey Kelly. Second place went to Kaitlyn Kirby and Hannah Rodgers. Third place went to Lena Martone and Anna Dudley. Honorable mention went to Joseph Mele and Taylor June.

First place in life science (group) went to Marissa Stolz, Danielle Travis and Grace Parsons. Second place went to Carissa Espada and Jasmine Bibler, and taking third place were Lauren Rodenbach and Hallie Snyder.
