Women: Notre Dame clamps down late to stop BC

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Jacqueline Batteast scored her 15 in the second half, and sixth-ranked Notre Dame held No. 16 Boston College scoreless for five minutes down the stretch in a 64-57 victory Wednesday night.
The Eagles went ahead 54-53 when Lisa Macchia scored inside with 6:45 left. But the Irish took the control with an 8-0 run, getting four points inside.
The run started when Batteast went around Macchia to score. Batteast was double-teamed low on Notre Dame's next possession but passed to Teresa Borton, who was open for a basket.
After Macchia was called for a travel, Courtney LaVere hit a 15-foot shot to put the game away.
Borton added 12 points for the Irish, who outscored the Eagles 44-18 inside despite being outrebounded 45-32.
Clare Droesch led BC with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Aja Parham had 13 points and 13 rebounds and Sarah Marshall added 14 points.
The Eagles shot a season-low 34.5 percent and committed a season-high 22 turnovers.

NO. 13 TEXAS 77, TEXAS A&M 62: Tiffany Jackson had 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead the host Longhorns, who outscored the Aggies 52-18 in the paint and outrebounded them 41-28.
NO. 19 IOWA ST. 103, COLORADO 76: Megan Ronhovde made all six of her 3-pointers and scored a career-high 24, and Anne O'Neil missed a triple double by one rebound for the host Cyclones.

ECKERD 70, SAINT LEO 65: Chimene Gordon scored a career-high 21 and freshman Jamie Massey added a career-high 13 for the host Tritons.
