It's time for pets and their owners to party Saturday in Dunedin with the annual Mardi Paws Festival and Parade. (The city's big Mardi Gras for humans is Tuesday night downtown.)

Costumed pets and people will sashay through Pioneer Park downtown beginning at 7:30 a.m. New this year: The Pinellas Animal Foundation's BOWser Games are part of the festivities. The games, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Highlander Park north of downtown, include agility competitions, such as the one Montana, a 6-month-old border collie from St. Petersburg, demonstrates above. There will be pet and owner look-alike contests, best costume contests and more. Those without a pet can check out the ones for adoption from animal rescue groups and shelters.

And it's all free, though parking at Highlander Park is $4. (727) 298-3213 or (727) 347-7387.
