Though Americans bought a record $6.2 billion in video games in 2004, the most popular were the violent, sexually explicit Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Halo 2. Rated M, for mature gamers ages 17 or older, these titles combined to sell 9.3 million copies, and they didn't hit stores until November.
