Homer is tapped to choreograph the Super Bowl halftime show on The Simpsons, which airs just after the game. And if that’s Sapp, he must be on a diet.
So with a toned-down show and even the overly hyped ads expected to be G-rated this year, what else is on?
There's always the Lingerie Bowl. The pay-per-view game this year throws in a performance by the rapper Chingy in addition to the scantily clad models. It if makes you feel better, they say they will donate a portion of the proceeds to tsunami relief efforts.
And if an ex-Beatle is too dirty for you, Christian broadcasters are planning an alternative Super Bowl halftime show.
On the other end of the spectrum, there's the Girls Gone Wild Halftime Games, a pay-per-view event that will pit women against each other "in a series of physically challenging, nudity-inducing outdoor games."
MTV, the network that produced the infamous Janet Jackson show last year, will offer its own alternative halftime. Both MTV and MTV2 will air a preview special of a revamped MTV2, featuring a combination of music, shows and "random content aimed at young males."
Bravo is running a marathon of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, the Style Network has a Martha Stewart Living marathon and the Animal Planet kicks off The Puppy Bowl starting at 3 p.m. where you can watch a cute cast of puppies romp around a mini stadium. You can even vote online for MVP.
After the game, there will be a Super Bowl-themed Simpsons, with several football stars as guests, including cartoonishly strong ex-Buc Warren Sapp, who is now a defender for the Oakland Raiders. He told Zap2it.com he was a bit concerned about his animated depiction.
"I don't want to be big with a little shirt!" he told them. "Cover me up a little bit! I love The Simpsons , so whatever I am, I am."
