CLEARWATER - A reporter for WTVT Ch. 13 was arrested Sunday on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery after an argument with her boyfriend.

Roxanne Evanina, 38, got into a physical confrontation with her live-in boyfriend over a laptop computer and sprayed a bleach product over his face and clothes, according to the arrest report.

When Pinellas County deputies arrived at their Clearwater home, they found him covered in the bleach product. The name of the boyfriend, who was not injured, was not released.

Evanina joined Fox 13 News in March 2003, according to the station's Web site, and can be seen weeknights at 10 and 10:30 p.m. She was held in Pinellas County Jail on Sunday.

Husband accused of attempted murder

PINELLAS PARK - Jon Dean McVey was driving west on 90th Avenue N Saturday when he told his wife she was going to die, police said. Then he hit the gas, swerved their pickup off the road, into a ditch and through a fence, officials said. The truck rolled.

Moneca McVey suffered a broken neck and back. McVey, 37, left his wife trapped in the truck and ran off. A Pinellas Park police officer and dog tracked McVey to the rear of his home at 8750 64th St. N, where he was arrested.

He is charged with attempted murder and leaving the scene of an accident involving injury. Information about the condition of Moneca McVey, 34, was unavailable Sunday. McVey is president of J.D.M. Construction, records show. The couple filed for divorce in 2002 but the case was dismissed. He was held Sunday in Pinellas County Jail in lieu of $40,000 bail.
