Navy Petty Officer 1st class Brian K. Cabral, son of Katherine Murray of St. Petersburg, recently retired after 20 years with the Navy. He received his fourth Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal while serving as a Navy recruiting district supervisor in Miami. During his career, he also received the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal.

Navy Lt. j.g. John J. Cahill, son of Kwi Cho Cahill and James J. Cahill, both of St. Petersburg, has returned from deployment aboard the USS Roosevelt, homeport Mayport.

Navy Hospitalman Mark A. Rivera, son of Miquelina and Martin Rivera of St. Petersburg, recently reported for duty at Naval Hospital Jacksonville. He is a 1997 graduate of Lakewood High School.

Coast Guard Seaman Apprentice Joshua M. Sayles, son of Brandy L. and Michael J. Sayles of St. Petersburg, has graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Recruit Training Center in Cape May, N.J. He is a 2004 graduate of Northeast High School.

The following six recruits recently completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill.:

Navy Seaman Apprentice Rebecca C. Alicea, daughter of Donna M. Alicea of St. Petersburg and Luis A. Alicea-Santiago of Tampa, and a 2004 graduate of Boca Ciega High School.

Navy Seaman Apprentice Paul M. Conforti, son of Theresa M. Dziendzielewski of St. Petersburg.

Navy Seaman Apprentice Spencer J. Gibson, son of Annita L. Watkins of St. Petersburg, and a 2004 graduate of Largo High School.

Navy Seaman Apprentice Mario S. Hodge, son of Charles E. Hodge Jr. of St. Petersburg.

Navy Seaman Recruit Robert T. Lodato, son of Marcia D. Saive of St. Petersburg, and a 2004 graduate of Boca Ciega High School.

Navy Airman Recruit Brad D. Whittington, son of Eloyne A. Erickson of St. Petersburg.
