NEW PORT RICHEY - A jury found a Brooksville man guilty Thursday evening of DUI manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident involving death.

Prosecutors said Roger Lynn Allen had been drinking all day when his pickup truck struck a man riding an adult tricycle on Aripeka Road the night of March 6, 2003. Roger Crandall died of his injuries four days later.

Three hours after the crash, Allen's blood-alcohol level registered at 0.185 and 0.189. Under Florida law, 0.08 percent is the level at which a person is presumed unable to safely drive.

A sentencing date for Allen, 53, has not been set.
