KEYSTONE - Concertgoers will be treated to an afternoon of gospel music at Keystone United Methodist Church on Sunday, a venue becoming known for its eclectic array of musical programs.
Michael Green, an ordained minister, will present a variety of gospel music, including some of his own compositions.
"For as long as I can remember I've had music in my heart," said Green, who teaches at Webb Middle School where he formed the school's first gospel choir. "I continue to try to express what God has given me."
Green, 28, was recently honored by the Gospel Music Workshop of America, which recorded his song Born to Die For Me, to be released this summer.
"We all experience joyous times, depressing times, and times of confusion," Green said. "I get into the word and the Spirit ministers to me, and before I know it, I have written a song."
Green will sing at 3 p.m. Sunday at Keystone United Methodist Church, 16301 Race Track Road. Visitors can make donations at the church.
Sunday's performance is one in a series of concerts given by the church, recitals that have ranged from classical to country and have presented a diverse assortment of groups and individuals.
