Associated Press
Published February 18, 2005

SARASOTA - The prime suspect in the 1995 disappearance of a teenager later found dead killed himself at an Ohio prison, officials said.

Richard Lee Walker, 37, never was charged in the 1995 death of Kristy Degg, who was 13 when reported missing. Walker hanged himself last week at Warren Correctional Institution where he was serving two years for rape.

Kristy's body was found buried in Sarasota County about three weeks after she disappeared in May 1995.
