Council to tackle subdivision lawsuit

By Times Staff Writer
Published February 25, 2005

PORT RICHEY - A special City Council meeting has been scheduled Tuesday to discuss the lawsuit filed by the real estate investment company behind Rocky Creek Estates.

Attorneys for the city are seeking an extension to file a response while Altamonte G&M wants the city to put aside a deadline for filing a final subdivision map until the court dispute is resolved. The meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Last fall, the council cited environmental and traffic reasons for cutting the density of the project from 43 homes to 13, or one per acre of buildable land. Altamonte is suing for the full density.

The project site is off Ebbtide Lane.
