HERNANDO SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA will present "Songs Of the Nation" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hernando High School Performing Arts Center in Brooksville. ACTOR MICHAEL YORK and pianist John Bell Young will perform the melodramatic story Enoch Arden, about a shipwrecked sailor who struggles to return home (Tom Hanks' Cast Away was based on this), at 2 and 7 p.m. Sunday at the Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center, 324 Pine St., Tarpon Springs. THE MOVIE "LONG NIGHT'S JOURNEY INTO DAY: South Africa's Search for Truth & Reconciliation' will be shown at 6 p.m. Monday at the New Port Richey Public Library, 5929 Main St., New Port Richey. The film focuses on four cases that the Truth and Reconciliation Commission examined that showed speakers from both sides of the apartheid question . The film is part of the Human Rights Video Collection being shown throughout 2005 at the library and at Pasco-Hernando Community College. A discussion will follow the movie.

SINGER/VENTRILOQUIST Mikki Taylor will perform country and western, Broadway and pop music at 7 p.m. Monday at the Jewish Community Center of West Pasco, 9841 Scenic Drive, Port Richey. Admission is $4.

CHASCO FIESTA opens Thursday and continues through March 13 in downtown New Port Richey. Highlights include American Indian night with recent Grammy winner Bill Miller (Cedar Dream Songs) at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, the American Indian festival with dance competition, instructional demonstrations, educational wildlife displays, American Indian artists and craftsmen throughout, the giant street parade at 1 p.m. March 5, a boat parade on the Cotee River at 1 p.m. March 12 and the country concert with Phil Vassar at 7 p.m. March 12 (advance tickets are $12. THE THURSDAY MUSICALE, a nonsectarian chorus of 50 women, will present a concert at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Living Word Church, 5151 Rowan Road, New Port Richey. VISUAL ARTS

WEST PASCO ART GUILD's watermedia show continues through Tuesday at the gallery, 6206 Jefferson St., New Port Richey, from 1 to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

"THE SENSUAL GUITAR,' an exhibit of photography by Emanuel Pontoriero, concludes Saturday at the Pasco Arts Center. The center is at 5744 Moog Road, Holiday. Watercolors by Sharon Curtis and drawings by Sarah Cheney are on exhibit in the center's Upstairs Gallery through Monday. Viewing hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.

ARTISTS SCOTT SPILLMAN, Wil Dawson and Nina Winters continue their exhibit through Saturday at Progress Energy Art Gallery, 6231 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey. Viewing hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"ONE VIEW/TWO VISIONS: PLEIN-AIR PAINTINGS' by Josette Urso and Peter Schroth continues through March 6 at Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art, 600 Klosterman Rd., Tarpon Springs. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays; and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $5 adults, $4 seniors and free to students and children. AUDITIONS, WORKSHOPS, ETC.

RICHEY SUNCOAST THEATRE will hold auditions for the musical Honk! at 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the theater, 6237 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey. The show is based on the Hans Christian Anderson's classic tale The Ugly Duckling. About 30 roles for adults and children ages 6 and older. Director is Marie Skelton. Production dates are May 12-29.
