ST. PETERSBURG - Police are investigating the death of a 56-year-old man found inside his apartment at 6:24 p.m. Wednesday.

His upper-body injuries were consistent with "homicidal violence," said Sgt. Mike Puetz of the St. Petersburg Police Department. The man's name was not released Thursday. A neighbor called police after trying to check on the man at 721 22nd Ave. S, Apt. 3. He was pronounced dead on scene, police said. Anyone with information can call Detective Rick Shaw at (727) 893-4937 or (727) 893-7780.
