THONOTOSASSA - The body pulled from Lake Thonotosassa on Friday has been identified as a Tampa woman with a history of prostitution arrests.
Donna Julane Cooke, 23, with a last known address of 2004 E 104th Ave., Apartment 9 in Tampa, was found floating in the lake Friday by a fisherman, said Hillsborough sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter.
Carter didn't give any details on how Cooke died, saying only that she suffered blunt trauma to the upper body. The autopsy is ongoing, she said.
Records show that Cooke was last arrested in Hillsborough County in March 2004 and was charged with domestic violence and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She was arrested four other times on prostitution charges between September 2001 and March 2003.
Anyone with information about Cooke is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 873-8477.
