Marine Corps Pvt. Hassan K. Brissett, grandson of Dorothy Brown of St. Petersburg, has completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Antonio L. Cleveland, son of Angela Powers of St. Petersburg, recently reported for duty with Weapons Training Battalion, Quantico, Va. He is a 1991 graduate of Pinellas Park High School.

Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Jennifer L. Sheppard, daughter of Lynn H. Sheppard of Pinellas Park, was the distinguished honor graduate of the ammunition technician specialist course while assigned to Marine Corps Detachment, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., and was promoted to her current rank. She is a 2004 graduate of Pinellas Park High School.

The following three recruits recently completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill.:

Navy Seaman Recruit Kiashi F. Hosey, daughter of Andrida D. Hosey and stepdaughter of Boysell Hosey, both of St. Petersburg, and a 2004 graduate of Gibbs High School.

Navy Seaman Apprentice Joseph R. Aylesworth, son of Dawn E. and Robert M. Aylesworth of St. Petersburg.

Navy Seaman Jessica S. Fortner, daughter of Christtina P. Winthrop and stepdaughter of Shannon L. Winthrop, both of Pinellas Park, and a 2004 graduate of Dixie Hollins High School.
