ST. PETERSBURG - Prospective college students are invited to spend a day on the waterfront at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg's annual Spring Fling from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday.

It's a chance for high school juniors and seniors to talk to USF St. Petersburg students and faculty members. Recruiters will be available to answer questions about admission requirements, major fields of study, financial aid and scholarship opportunities available only to USF St. Petersburg students.

The university touts a small campus feel, 35 majors and a student-faculty ratio of 18-1.

Spring Fling is similar to a fall homecoming. Visitors compete with university students in jousting and basketball, and can enjoy a free barbecue lunch and ice cream sundaes.

Prospective students can pick up free parking passes at the welcome center at Fifth Avenue S and Second Street. They should check in at the registration booth.

For more information or directions to the campus, call 727 553-4002 or visit www.stpt.usf.edu
