Palm Harbor plans Party in the Park

PALM HARBOR - Palm Harbor Parks and Recreation will host its second annual Party in the Park from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. April 9 at H.S. "Pop" Stansell Park at Florida Avenue and Eighth Street.
The party will include children's games, activities, prizes, food, moonwalks and entertainment from three bands, Victoria K, Jeff O'Kelley and That '70s Band. Admission is free. Aquatic classes can help with arthritis, more
PALM HARBOR - Physiotherapy Associates, 35111 U.S. 19 N, Suite 100, offers aquatic classes for those with arthritis, fibromyalgia, osteoporosis and chronic back and neck pain.
The classes, approved by the Arthritis Foundation, are also appropriate for those with diabetes, postrehabilitation needs or weight loss requirements.
Classes are conducted as part of a nonprofit program. They take place in a heated indoor pool and offer range of motion, flexibility and strengthening exercises.
Participants do not need to know how to swim.

Local businesswomen organizing Zonta club
North Pinellas business executives are organizing a new chapter of Zonta International, a service organization that works to advance the status of women.
Zonta clubs support their communities through service projects, fundraisers, advocacy and community support.

Grants available for service groups
PALM HARBOR - The GFWC Palm Harbor Junior Women's Club has applications available for its 2005 "Making a Difference" grant program.
The club plans to award grants of up to $1,000 to nonprofit organizations that demonstrate service to North Pinellas. Groups can pick up applications in the vestibule of the Palm Harbor Library, 2330 Nebraska Ave., or print the application from the club's Web site, www.phjwc.com

Parents can drop off kids in Oldsmar for a night out
OLDSMAR - The city will have a parents' night out for children 5 to 12 years old from 5 to 11 p.m. March 12 at the Bicentennial Park Recreation Center, 423 Lafayette Blvd.

YMCA offers program to deepen parent-child bond
A new program called Adventure Guides for families with children 4 to 9 years old is coming to the North Pinellas and Greater Palm Harbor branches of the YMCA.
Anyone interested in learning more about the program is invited to a pool party and barbecue from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the YMCA in Palm Harbor, 1600 16th St.
Adventure Guide members join a circle of families participating together in camping, hiking, canoeing, tubing on a river, field trips, games, parades and crafts. It aims to deepen the bonds between parents and their children with shared fun activities.

Sweet Adelines chapter's free concert on Sunday
PALM HARBOR - The Suncoast Harmony chapter of Sweet Adelines International, under the direction of Amy Riddle, will sing at a free concert at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Palm Harbor Library, 2330 Nebraska Ave. Refreshments will be served.
Countryside High class looking for members
Countryside High School's class of 1985 has announced the date and location for its 20th reunion. The event is July 8-9 at the Sheraton Sand Key in Clearwater Beach. Reunion organizers are looking for lost or relocated members of the class.
