Tonight: USF men at Texas Christian
By GREG AUMAN
Published March 2, 2005
WHEN/WHERE: 8; Daniel-Meyer Coliseum, Fort Worth, Texas.
RADIO: 570-AM and 910-AM. RECORDS: USF 11-14, 4-10 C-USA; TCU 17-11, 7-7.
COACHES: USF - Robert McCullum (18-34, second season; 62-79 overall); TCU - Neil Dougherty (38-47, third season).
NOTABLE: Now that South Florida has clinched a berth in next week's conference tournament, this game is a chance to build momentum on the way to Memphis. USF has yet to beat a team with a winning record, and it has two more shots to do that tonight and Saturday at home against Charlotte. ... TCU's top three scorers are all guards, Corey Santee (14.3 points), Nile Murry (12.5) and Marcus Shropshire (11.8). ... The Horned Frogs, 13-3 at home, will honor five seniors tonight, including Santee and Shropshire. ... TCU has won the past two meetings, including 54-51 in Tampa last season. ... Bulls sophomore guard Marius Prekevicius practiced Monday, his first action since he aggravated a knee injury in a loss at DePaul last week. Freshman guard Collin Dennis, suspended from that game for missing class, also traveled, though McCullum hadn't decided whether either will play.
