TAMPA - Sheriff's deputies arrested a 30-year-old Ruskin man Tuesday after a young boy said the man struck him and shocked his ears with a stun gun, said Hillsborough County sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter.
Miguel Jimenez of 1527 Orchard Park Circle, No. 101, is being held without bail in the county jail on one count of aggravated child abuse, jail records show.
Carter said deputies went to the house after officials from the Department of Children and Families contacted the Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say that between Sunday and Monday, Jimenez hit the 6-year-old on the left cheek, leaving red marks and bruises, the arrest affidavit showed.
The boy also had bruised earlobes. Carter said the boy told deputies he got the bruises after Jimenez prodded his ears and shocked him with a stun gun.
Officials did not disclose the boy's relationship to Jimenez, but Carter confirmed the boy lives with Jimenez.
According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Jimenez has no prior arrests.
