Nominate businesses for entrepreneur honor

Want to be recognized among the ranks of such top entrepreneurs as Michael Dell, Wayne Huizenga and Southwest Airlines' Herb Kelleher?

Nominate your business for Ernst & Young's 2005 Entrepreneur of the Year award.

Deadline for entry is April 8, and there is no fee for nominations. Online applications are available at Ernst & Young's Web site, www.ey.com Past winners from the Tampa Bay area include Rooms to Go, Lazy Days RV Center, Outback Steakhouse and PODS. Companies are judged on innovation, financial performance and personal commitment of the entrepreneurs to their businesses and communities. Last year, 100 companies were nominated for the Florida honor and eight were selected for awards.

The economic impact of leading entrepreneurial endeavors is substantial. The 24 finalists in the 2004 Florida competition had combined revenue of $3-billion and created 14,254 jobs.
