HERNANDO BEACH - A 66-year-old man found himself in a compromising position at Jenkins Creek Park on Friday when the stranger he unzipped his pants for turned out to be an undercover sheriff's deputy, the Sheriff's Office said.
The Sheriff's Office was investigating complaints of lewd and lascivious behavior at the county park at 6401 Shoal Line Blvd. about noon when Robert Fera approached the deputy on a dirt path.
Fera asked the deputy if he was "looking for some action." When the deputy asked Fera what he meant, Fera told him that people sometimes use the trail leading from the parking lot to engage in sexual activity, a sheriff's report stated.
But Fera allegedly decided to take things further.
During the conversation, Fera stepped away from the man he thought was a stranger and unzipped his pants, exposing his genitals, the report said.
After the deputy identified himself, Fera of Spring Hill was arrested and cited for exposing his sexual organs, a misdemeanor. He was also ordered not to return to Jenkins Creek Park.
