WRESTLER OF THE YEAR: David Craig, a Brandon junior, finished 48-0 at 171 pounds. He is a three-time state champion, Beast of the East champion, was ranked No. 1 nationally and in Florida, was region, district, county and Ippolito champion, and undefeated in three years.
COACH OF THE YEAR: Tom Montero, Robinson High. In his fourth year, Montero has turned the Knights program into a consistent winner, placing second at district and sending several wrestlers through the state playoffs, including Dan Dau, a senior that finished as state runnerup at 130 pounds.
FIRST TEAM
LIGHTWEIGHTS (102-130)
ERIC GRAJALES, TEMPLE HEIGHTS: Eighth-grader finished 40-1 and was second at state. Was region and district champion.
RYAN NYE, BLOOMINGDALE: Junior finished 41-4 and was second at state. Was region, district and county champion.
DAN DAU, ROBINSON: Senior finished 40-6 and was second in state. Was region and district champion.
FRANKLIN GOMEZ, BRANDON: Senior finished 48-0 and was the Beast of the East, state, region, district, county and Ippolito champion.
SEAN JOYCE, BRANDON: Sophomore finished 37-4 and was second at state. Was region, district, county and Ippolito champion.
KENNY KELLER, BRANDON: Senior finished 37-8 and was second in state. Was region, district and county champion.
MIDDLEWEIGHTS (135-160)
RICARDO TOPHAM, CHAMBERLAIN: Senior finished 43-6 and was second at state. Was district and region champion.
CESAR GRAJALES, BRANDON: Senior finished 48-1 and was a four-time state champion. Was third in Beast of the East; region, district, county and Ippolito champion.
MARCO TOLEDO, BRANDON: Senior finished 46-2 and was state, district, region, county and Ippolito champion.
TOMMY TIMOTHY, BRANDON: Sophomore finished 43-3 and was second at state. Was district, region, county and Ippolito champ.
ROCKY COZART, BRANDON: Senior finished 48-1 and was state, region, district, county and Ippolito champion. Ranked top in state.
UPPER WEIGHTS (171-275)
PAT SCICCHITANO, JESUIT: Senior finished 49-2 and was third at state. Was district and region champion.
JOSE FERNANDEZ, CHAMBERLAIN: Junior finished 42-9 and was region champion and state qualifier.
MIKE BRUCE, ARMWOOD: Senior finished 18-6, was district champion, region runnerup, state qualifier.
CHIP BOWDEN, DURANT: Junior finished 32-12 and was region champion, state qualifier.
STEVE CAITO, BRANDON: Senior finished 43-9, was district and region champ, fifth at state.
