BROOKSVILLE ELEMENTARY: Science Family Night, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the multipurpose room. Parents and students interested in science and Science Fair participants are invited to attend this fun night of making wacky things through science experiments or to get ideas for science fair projects, and other information. Families should bring their Science Fair project books with them. Project books will be available, and display boards will be on sale for $3.

CHOCACHATTI ELEMENTARY: School Advisory Council meeting, 6:30 p.m. Monday in the media center.

Evening performance of Dear Edwina 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 16 and 17 in the town center. Lively musical theater production based on character education for children and the young at heart. Admission free. Donations accepted.

FOX CHAPEL MIDDLE: PTSA meeting, 6:30 p.m. followed by the School Advisory Council, 7 p.m. Monday in the media center.

The Spanish Honor Society will hold a Walk-A-Thon on March 18 to raise funds for a scholarship in memory of classmate Carlee Horan, who died in a car accident last summer. Students will walk the school's track from noon to 5 p.m. and collect pledges/sponsorships for each lap. The Honor Society is asking for volunteers to assist with the fundraiser and community businesses to donate food, water and other necessary items. Parent Night, 6:30 p.m. March 17 in the school's auditorium. Open to all students in the ninth, 10th, and 11th grades and their parents/guardians as well as eighth-grade students and their parents/guardians who will be attending Hernando High during the 2005-06 school year. During the Hernando History Day Fair at Springstead High recently, 116 students representing 68 entries from Hernando County's middle and high schools participated in various categories. The top two entrants in each category of the junior and senior divisions are eligible to attend the state history fair in Tallahassee in May. Listed below are the top finalists:
