Seven Brooksville streets to get lower speed limit

By Times Staff Writer
Published March 10, 2005

BROOKSVILLE - The City Council on Monday agreed to lower the speed limit on seven streets in Brooksville from 30 to 25 mph.

The decision came after the Brooksville Police Department and Department of Public Works conducted a study on the residential roadways to determine the feasibility of a change and recommended reducing the speed limit by 5 mph, City Manager Richard Anderson said.

The roads include Candlebrook Lane, Coachlight Circle, Stafford Avenue, Village Drive and Peach and Shayne streets. Anderson said officials were responding to several requests for city residents to curb speeders and ensure the safety of their children.
