Men: Two more win bids

HACKENSACK, N.J. - Italian center Andrea Crosariol scored 18 and Fairleigh Dickinson earned its first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 1998 by beating Wagner 58-52 to win the Northeast Conference tournament.

Mensah Peterson scored seven of his 13 in the final 3:28, including a critical 3-pointer with 23.8 seconds to play, for the second-seeded Knights (20-12).

Durell Vinson had 14 points and eight rebounds for sixth-seeded Wagner (13-17), which was trying to cap an amazing turnaround after a 2-15 start.

Big Sky

MONTANA 63, WEBER STATE 61: Kamarr Davis scored 19 and Montana (18-12) held off a late rally to earn a trip to the NCAA tournament by winning the conference tournament in Portland.

Atlantic 10

LA SALLE 70, MASSACHUSETTS 64 (OT): Jermaine Thomas and Mike St. John scored all 11 of La Salle's points in overtime to lead the Explorers (10-18) over Massachusetts (16-12) in the first round of the conference tournament in Cincinnati.

RICHMOND 68, RHODE ISLAND 60: Kevin Steenberge scored 22 to lead Richmond (14-14). Freshman Will Daniels scored a career-high 22 to lead Rhode Island (6-22).

FORDHAM 65, DUQUESNE 53: Freshman Marcus Stout scored 31 and Fordham earned its first Atlantic 10 tournament victory. Fordham (13-15) lost the opener of each of their first nine tournaments.

DAYTON 78, ST. BONAVENTURE 48: Norman Plummer scored 18 and Dayton easily advanced.

Big East

GEORGETOWN 56, SETON HALL 51: Darrel Owens scored all 14 of his points over the final 8 minutes, and the Hoyas snapped a five-game losing streak in the opening round of the conference tournament in New York.

WEST VIRGINIA 82, PROVIDENCE 59: Kevin Pittsnogle hit five three-pointers and scored 24 points for West Virginia (19-9). Ryan Gomes had 20 in his final game for Providence (14-17). An All-America last season, the senior forward finished as the Friars' all-time leading scorer with 2,138 points.

RUTGERS 72, NOTRE DAME 65: Ricky Shields scored 21 and the Scarlet Knights (10-18) ended the game with eight straight points to beat Notre Dame (17-11), which has lost four of five and finds itself on the NCAA bubble.

Big West

UC IRVINE 80, IDAHO 67: Aaron Fitzgerald scored a career-high 30 to lead UC Irvine (16-12) in the opening round of the conference tournament in Anaheim, Calif.

Mid-Eastern Athletic

DELAWARE ST. 66, BETHUNE-COOKMAN 43: Darrin Shine scored 13 and Aaron Williams and Jahsha Bluntt each added 12 to lead Delaware St. (17-13) to the quarterfinal win in Richmond, Va.

HAMPTON 81, FLORIDA A&M 72: Jeff Granger scored 26 and Devin Green added 24 to lead Hampton. The Pirates (16-12) scored 34 points on 27 Florida A&M fouls. Tony Tate scored 18 for the Rattlers (14-15), and Darius Glober added 15.
