* Taking Stock: Joe Ogilvie, 30, is a sixth-year PGA Tour player still in search of his first PGA Tour victory. In addition to golf, Ogilvie loves the stock market. In fact, he spends a couple of hours a day making online trades and studying. And he is friends with investment guru Warren Buffet. "We e-mail every now and again, talk a couple times a year, but we don't talk about stocks really," Ogilvie said. Asked what kind of financial advice he had received from Buffet, Ogilvie said: "He told me the best way to make returns is to shoot four straight 65s."
* Deep Sleep: Craig Parry nearly never had the chance to make his dramatic eagle shot last year at the Ford Championship at Doral - he overslept and woke just 14 minutes before his first-round tee time. It happened again this year, although it wasn't as bad. Parry overslept on the morning of his second round but had almost an hour to make it this time. "You're not going to believe it," he said. "I put the alarm clock on "p.m.' rather than "a.m.' " Both alarm clocks, he said. Ever since last year's scare, Parry has traveled with two. "Now I probably have to get three," he said. Why not just get a wake-up call? "Oh, that's too hard," Parry quipped.
QUOTABLE
"It's like eating an elephant. I can do it, but I have to do it bite by bite." - Scotland's Colin Montgomerie, who has slowly climbed the Official World Golf Ranking from 81st at the beginning of the year to 63rd heading into last weekend to 56th. He needs to be in the top 50 in two weeks in order to qualify for the Players Championship. If he doesn't make the Players, he will play a European Tour event in China hoping to move up to the top 50 in order to make the Masters.
STAT OF THE WEEK
Tiger Woods set the tournament scoring record at the Ford Championship and now shares or holds the record at six tournaments on the PGA Tour.
