Women: Texas Tech hangs on in Big 12 quarterfinal

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Alesha Robertson made two free throws with 2.7 seconds left, and Iowa State's last-second shot rimmed out to lift No. 14 Texas Tech to a 61-59 win Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 tournament.
Robertson and Chelsey Dabbs each had 13 points to lead the Raiders, who face Baylor in today's semifinal. Erin Grant added 12 points and nine assists.
With the score tied at 59 with less than five seconds left, Grant drove the lane but was fouled. After inbounding the ball to the post, Robertson was immediately fouled while attempting a shot and sank both free throws.
NO. 6 BAYLOR 70, MISSOURI 52: Sophia Young scored 18 and the Bears easily reached the Big 12 semifinals. Chameka Scott hit four 3-pointers and scored 16 for top-seeded Baylor.
NO. 11 TEXAS 65, OKLAHOMA 59: Tiffany Jackson scored 25, including nine down the stretch, to lead the Longhorns in a Big 12 quarterfinal.
NO. 17 KANSAS ST. 71, NEBRASKA 45: Kendra Wecker scored 19 and became the Big 12's career scoring leader, lifting the Wildcats.

HOLY CROSS 79, COLGATE 70: Emily Braseth had 21 points, five rebounds and three steals as the Raiders earned an NCAA bid in Worcester, Mass.
Big East controversy
HARTFORD, Conn. - The Big East is looking into Rutgers coach C. Vivian Stringer's allegations that Connecticut coach Geno Auriemma made inappropriate comments to a Scarlet Knights player during the conference title game Tuesday. Rutgers guard Cappie Pondexter confronted Auriemma after UConn's 67-51 win.
