Around the world in Tropicana Field

By Times Staff
Published March 17, 2005

After more than a decade away, the SPIFFS Folk Fair returns this weekend to Tropicana Field, where there should be ample space to enjoy all the ethnic foods and wares offered by about 40 cultural organizations.

Entertainment includes Mikitukas, a children's dance group from Lithuania; Puerto Rican dance and music by El Grupo Pura Plena; Latin/salsa music by Orquesta Infinidad and much more.

And the shopping is always a treat.

The fair is open to school groups today and Friday morning. Public hours are 3-9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday at Tropicana Field, 16th Street and First Avenue S, St. Petersburg. Admission is $8 adults, $6 seniors, $5 children with a buy-one-get-one free special on Friday. 727 552-1896; www.spiffs.org
