Hot ticket: Big insights in a small venue

By LENNIE BENNETT
Published March 17, 2005

Fans of traditional art get lots of validation at museum shows in the area, and it's often left to smaller venues, such as galleries, to present us with more controversial creative expressions. Project Creo, an exhibition space at the Pier, has made a point of living on the edge since its inception several years ago, bringing us work by artists, especially emerging ones, usually with wonderfully intriguing results. "Convergence" is its latest offering, 13 collaborations between groups of artists in various media. This is the kind of work that can seem baffling. But it's worth the visit to the Pier, 800 Second Ave. NE, St. Petersburg, to open your eyes and mind to some interesting visions. Free admission. For more information, go to www.projectcreo.org or call 727 898-8318.
