Three elementary school principals will be leading different elementary schools in the coming school year, according to a reshuffling that school superintendent Sandra "Sam" Himmel announced Thursday.

Patrick Simon, principal of Pleasant Grove Elementary, will transfer to Citrus Springs Elementary.

Cicely Thomas, principal of Citrus Springs Elementary, will transfer to Lecanto Primary.

And Robert Snider, principal of Lecanto Primary, will transfer to Pleasant Grove Elementary.

Simon has been employed by the Citrus County School District for 23 years, including three years as assistant principal at Citrus Springs Elementary, according to a release from the school district. He was also assistant principal at Pleasant Grove before being appointed principal in 2000.

Simon earned his bachelor's degree at Youngstown State University in Ohio and his master's degree from the University of South Florida.

Thomas has worked for the school district for 21 years, including at Lecanto Primary as a teacher and curriculum specialist for 14 years. She was named assistant principal at Citrus Springs in 1998 and took over as principal in 2004.

She earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Florida State University, her master's from the University of South Florida and her education specialist's degree in educational leadership from the University of Florida.

Snider has been principal of Lecanto Primary for the past two years. Previously he worked in the West Virginia school system for 33 years and as an elementary principal for the past five years.

He earned his bachelor's degree from Fairmont State College in West Virginia and his master's degree from West Virginia University.

Himmel announced the job changes Thursday in an e-mail, saying "strong school communities will grow even stronger" by the transfers.
